OK, three things about this book: 1). It's fun to read. 2). You've probably heard most of, if not all, these ideas before. 3). This is a great refresher course in those smart money principles you probably already know.
We all know the economy is a mess and people all over are having to tighten their belts and make less go further these days. In this volume, Ms. Craker reminds us of solid financial principles as practiced by the Amish, who, incidentally, have not been much affected by the economic downturn that has panicked so many others of us in North America and around the world.
Save your money for those big ticket items rather than slapping down your credit card for them, make do with what is on hand rather than rushing out to purchase something knew...reuse, recycle...sound familiar? These are some of the ideas discussed in this easy-to-read book.
Ms. Craker's illustrations from the lives and words of the Plain people with whom she visited will help them stick in your mind and re-inspire you to perhaps live a bit more simply, make do with a bit less and enjoy the reduction in monetary stress that will come with the effort.
I reviewed this book for the Thomas Nelson booksneeze.com blogger book review program and received a free copy of the book in return for my honest opinion. I'm disclosing this in compliance with law.
